The Power of Stillness
“God is trying to get us to shut up long enough to hear His voice.”
“Be still, and know that I am God” Psalm 46:10
In the busyness of life, it can be challenging to hear God’s
voice. Tozer calls us to moments of stillness, where we can
quiet our minds and hearts to listen. Psalm 46:10 invites us to
stop striving and acknowledge God’s sovereignty. Reflect on
Elijah’s encounter with God in 1 Kings 19:12, where the Lord
was not in the earthquake or fire but in the gentle whisper. This
reminds us that God often speaks in quietness. Take time today
to create moments of stillness to draw closer to Him.
Father, teach me to be still in Your presence. Help me to listen and trust in Your guidance. Amen.
