A mulligan is a familiar term used by golfers that allows a player to get another shot, a second chance, a do-over. Wouldn’t it be great if there were mulligans in life, an opportunity for a second chance? There is now!
Mulligans for Life® was founded by Glenn Waldon as a way of paying it forward for the mulligans he received in his own life. Like many of us, Glenn experienced some financial setbacks in his life due to a failed business, bankruptcy, and divorce.
However, God put people in his life who believed in him and the gifts and call of God on his life. Even through the set-backs, people came alongside Glenn helping him to move onward and upward enabling him to pay-it-forward by gifts given him by good Samaritans in his life. Having been given his own mulligans or second chances, it created in him the desire to help many others, which is why he founded Mulligans for Life®.
He had a strong desire to help others needing a fresh start, a second chance, or just a little help in their present difficulties. That desire has grown into a foundation that helps hundreds each year.
Be Generous and Do Good Galatians 6:6,9,10
“6 Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. 9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.”
Mulligans for Life® is a road to connect those needing help with those who can provide the assistance needed, a hand-up, pay-it-forward road where businesses, groups, or individuals can donate money, time, services, transportation or a host of other needs, providing a mulligan to someone in need.
A mulligan recipient is given an anonymous donation to help with medical bills, hospitalizations, rent, gas, a book, school tuition, food, dental work, etc.
There are two ways a person can grant a mulligan, by giving to the general fund, which then distributes mulligans to those in need as directed by the advisory board.
A person can also donate anonymously to a specifically named recipient. Mulligans for Life® acts as a conduit only for this type of donation. Not all specifically named donations are tax deductible.
God gets all the glory when a donation is made anonymously. Mulligans for Life® provides a way to touch someone spiritually, physically, mentally, and socially without the recipient knowing where the donation came from.
When a recipient receives a Mulligan from Mulligans for Life® they are simply asked to pay-it-forward when they are able. In the moment, one person is being helped, but down the road, the mulligan is multiplied in the future lives that are helped by the pay-it-forward principle.
Mulligans for Life® also operates as the umbrella organization for a Christ based ministry, Morning Line Chapel, which offers daily devotions, audios, print materials and chapel services at locations around the country. This ministry puts us up front and personal in the lives of hurting people on a daily basis. We see them hurting and pray for them, but we also are able to help not only with their spiritual needs, but also their physical needs through Mulligans for Life®.
You can donate to the general fund by clicking on the sandtrap button. You can make a one-time donation or give a monthly donation. If you want to help a specific person with an anonymous donation, please click on “prayer requests on the right side. My son would have loved this organization. He was very active in a program at his church that helped people get back on their feet and get back to a normal working life. It was called The Portico” in Tampa. He passed away less that two years ago. I think your program is wonderful!
