Morning Line: Neutralize Temptation!
There is always a way out.
NOWHERE in the Bible are we told to “resist temptation.”
We are told to “resist the devil,” that is very different. Instead, we are advised to refocus our attention because resisting a thought doesn’t work. It only intensifies our focus on the wrong thing and strengthens its allure.
Whenever you TRY to block a Thought out of Your Mind, You drive it deeper into your Memory. By resisting it, You reinforce it. This is especially true with Temptation. You don’t DEFEAT Temptation by fighting the feeling of it.
You defeat it by Changing your thinking and focus!
.Since Temptation ALWAYS begins with a THOUGHT, turning your ATTENTION onto something else is the quickest way to neutralize its allure.
Philippians 4:8 (NKJV) “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. “
Whatever gets your ATTENTION and you focus on will capture your mind and heart.
Don’t fight the THOUGHT, CHANGE the Channel of Your MIND and get interested in another idea another channel. This is the first step in DEFEATING TEMPTATION.
James 4:6-8 (NKJV) “But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble, therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you draw near to God and He will draw near to you…”
It’s always your choice! Lean on the Holy Spirit for guidance and you will find the right path to reach your fullest potential releasing God’s great plan for a life of fulfillment.
May “Adonai” our Lord’s peace and guidance fill you today knowing without wavering, Father God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are with you.
