Morning Line: Flourish?
Jeremiah the prophet related trees that flourish and perish to people and their lives. Those who trust in the Lord and His ways or ignore them, those who follow God will send their roots deep into the soil (God’s Word) and bear fruit. However those who follow their own heart will be like a fruitless barren tree in the desert. Our Lord yearns for us to have a full relationship in spirit, soul, mind and body with Him.. That we would rely on Him the true and living God that we would become mighty fruit barring trees planted and nourished by His living water. Trusting our Father God that He is the Gardner of our heart, trusting Him with all of it. Bearing fruit that lasts and is blessed to abundantly supply your needs and with tremendously overflowing blessings to bless others.
“Thus says the Lord:
Cursed are those who trust in mere mortals and make mere flesh their strength,
whose hearts turn away from the Lord.
They shall be like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see when relief comes.
They shall live in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord.
They shall be like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots by the stream.
It shall not fear when heat comes, and its leaves shall stay green;
in the year of drought it is not anxious, and it does not cease to bear fruit.” Jeremiah 17:5-8 (NRSVCE)
Lord, hold our hearts in your awesome hands, as our help, hope and confidence are in you in the good times and the bad times, We know you are always with us and will not forsake us, Amen
