Instructions for Community Living

 For God did not destine us for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Yeshua the Messiah.  He died for us so that, whether we may be awake or asleep, we may live together with Him.  Therefore encourage one another and build each other up—just as you in fact are doing.

 Now we ask you, brothers and sisters, to recognize those who work hard among you and are over you in the Lord and correct you, and to esteem them beyond all measure in love because of their work. Keep shalom among yourselves.

We urge you, brothers and sisters, correct the unruly, comfort the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good for one another and for all.

Rejoice always,
pray constantly,
in everything give thanks;
for this is God’s will for you in Messiah Yeshua.
Do not quench the Spirit,
do not despise prophetic messages,
but test all things, hold fast to what is good,
 keep away from every kind of evil.

Now may the God of shalom Himself make you completely holy; and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept complete, blameless at the coming of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah. Faithful is the One who calls you—and He will make it happen! 1 Thessalonians 5:9-23 (TLV)

The Beauty of Worship

“We are saved to worship God. All that Christ has done for us in

the past and all that He is doing now leads to this one end.”

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before

the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the

people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Psalm 95:6-7

Worship is the ultimate response to God’s love and salvation.

Tozer emphasizes that our redemption is not merely for

our benefit but for God’s glory. Psalm 95 calls us to bow in

reverence, acknowledging God as our Creator and Shepherd.

Worship is not confined to singing; it is a lifestyle of adoration

and surrender to His will. Today, reflect on how you can make

worship a greater part of your daily life.

Lord, You are worthy of all my praise and adoration. Teach me

to worship You in spirit and truth every day. Amen.

The Cost of Surrender

“The way to deeper knowledge of God is through the lonely

valleys of soul poverty and abnegation of all things.”

Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants

to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up

their cross and follow me.”

Matthew 16:24

Tozer teaches that surrender is the path to deeper intimacy with

God. True discipleship requires the sacrifice of personal desires

and ambitions, making room for God’s will to take precedence.

Jesus’s call to take up our cross in Matthew 16:24 emphasizes

that following Him comes with a cost. This surrender, though

challenging, leads to the abundant life only God can provide.

Reflect today on what you may need to surrender to grow

closer to God.

Lord, teach me to let go of anything that hinders my walk with You.

Help me to embrace surrender and trust that Your plans are always better than mine. Amen.

Pursuing God Day 12 of 52 “Love”

“We pursue God because, and only because, He has first

put an urge within us that spurs us to the pursuit.”

We love because he first loved us.

1 J O H N 4 : 1 9

Our desire to seek God does not originate from our own will

but from His loving initiative. Tozer explains that God places

a yearning in our hearts to know Him more intimately.

1John 4:19 highlights this divine love as the foundation of all

our affections. God’s pursuing love compels us to respond by

drawing near to Him. Take time today to thank God for His

love that never fails and for the grace that draws you into a

deeper relationship with Him.

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your love that pursues me

even when I stray. Help me to respond by seeking You with my

whole heart. Amen.

“The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One.”

As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. Psalm 42:1

 Tozer reminds us that when God is our ultimate treasure, our

soul finds true satisfaction. Psalm 42 vividly portrays a longing

for God as a deep thirst—a yearning only He can quench. In a

world full of distractions, it’s easy to chase after temporary joys.

But true fulfillment comes when our heart treasures God above

all else. Reflect today on what holds your heart’s attention and

ask God to deepen your thirst for Him.

Lord, You are my treasure and the source of my joy. Increase

my thirst for Your presence and satisfy my soul in You alone. Amen.
