Morning Line: By Grace

“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God…”

1 Corinthians 1:3

One cannot experience God’s peace unless first knowing how to receive His grace and walk in it. There are three things about grace to understand:

(1) It cannot be earned

(2) It’s God doing for you what you can’t do for yourself

(3) It doesn’t kick in until you stop struggling, trying in your own strength.

James 4:6 . The ‘humble’ are those who admit their total inability to succeed without God’s help. Peter writes: one grows in grace by trusting God by taking God at His Word, counting on His gracious provision and intervention in situations difficult or impossible. There will never be a day when we don’t need God’s grace, and if we are willing to acknowledge we need it, we receive it.

‘For out of His fullness we have all received… grace… spiritual blessing…and favor …’ John 1:16.

Daily pour God’s Word into your heart to overflowing; when you need its power, it will pour back out of you in power and might to take care of the day before you.

Morning Line: Breath

“ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction into righteousness.” 2 Timothy 3:16

The Bible is God’s Breath of Life. How long can you hold your breath without being in trouble?

In the natural, we can only last a short time

Many of us are living in a spiritually oxygen-depleted atmosphere because we are not taking a deep breath of God’s Word daily and letting any bit of stress take our breath away.

The Greek root for inspiration is breath. So all Scripture is the “Breath of God”; in Ezekiel, God said Let these dry bones have breath and return to life. And they came together and stood as a great army.

Ezekiel 37:1-5 “ The hand of the Lord came upon me, and he brought me out by the spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me all around them; there were very many lying in the valley, and they were very dry.  He said to me, “Mortal, can these bones live?” I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them: O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.  Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.

If God’s breath- His Word can do that in a valley of dry bones, think about the power it can release in your life.

Take an extra deep breath today and see what God does in and through you. Let the breath of God energize you and regenerate your dry bones.

Daily pour God’s Word into your heart to overflowing; when you need its power, it will pour back out of you in power and might to take care of the day before you.

Morning Line: Sail the Deep Water

They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; these see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep. Psalm 107:23-24

He is but an apprentice and no master in the art, who has not learned that every wind that blows is fair for Heaven. The only thing that helps nobody is a dead calm. North or south, east or west, it matters not; every wind may help towards that blessed port. Seek one thing only: keep well out to sea, and then have no fear of stormy winds. Let our prayer be that of an old Cornishman: “O Lord, send us out to sea—out in the deep water. Here we are so close to the rocks that the first bit of breeze with the devil, we are all knocked to pieces. Lord, send us out to sea—out in the deep water, where we shall have room enough to get a glorious victory.”—Mark Guy Pearse.

Remember that we have no more faith at any time than we have in the hour of trial. All that will not bear to be tested is mere carnal confidence. Fair-weather faith is no faith.—C. H. Spurgeon (Streams in Desert, L.B. Cowman)

Morning Line: Journey!

“Leave…go to the land I will show you.”    Genesis  12:1

Let God Show You Where to Go; Where You Are Matters!

Sometimes you need to change your location mentally, and sometimes physically, to succeed in what God’s called you to do. Look at Elijah.

“The word of the Lord came to him, saying, ‘Get away from here and turn eastward….” 1Kings 17:2-4

As you submit and do what God tells you in His Word and in your spirit. The Holy Spirit will prepare you to go where He sends you, moving from the natural realm to the supernatural one. God has a plan and place for your life to be more and touch more than you can imagine. You matter and were born for a purpose.

“I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go.” Isaiah 48:17 NIV

If your heart desires to honor God in all things, He will show you the best location and path to succeed and fulfill the dream He sowed into your spirit before time began.

“By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.” Hebrews 11:8 NIV

Renew your mind and spirit daily in God’s Word, and you will hear His voice and go down the right lane. Today is a stepping stone to your Success for His glory.

Daily pour God’s Word into your heart to overflowing; when you need its power, it will pour back out of you in power and might to take care of the day before you.

Morning Line: Hydrate your Spirit!

“ As a deer longs for flowing streams, so my soul longs for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and behold the face of God? Psalm 42: 1-2 (KJV)

“ He opened the rock, and the waters gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river. Psalm 105:41 (KJV)

We need to strive to be like the man in Psalm 1:2-3 (KJV): “…his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

The water is the Word of God flowing in us, and Christ Jesus is the unshakable rock we can stand on.

We are the tree, and the watering of the Word brings forth fruit of the Spirit: love, peace, joy, gentleness, self-control, meekness, and temperance in your life.

Let God’s Word hydrate, cleanse, and fill you today as you walk in good health, well-being, and prosperity as it leads you.

“ I pray that you may have the power to comprehend….and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Ephesians 3:18-19

Morning Line: Beauty for Ashes!

God has promised to give you “beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness”(Isaiah 61:3)

The spirit of heaviness will lift when you begin to praise  God. It will fall off you like a garment. The weight will be gone. Your sadness will turn to gladness.

When you begin to worship God  you will feel His presence intensify you’ll have peace, He will strengthen you to rise above your discouragement as you praise your way through the storm to victory!  When you keep your head up and your eyes on Jesus Christ, your heart begins to rejoice even in the toughest test. It takes effort, but it’s worth it. Remember, you don’t always win every fight in the first round. But if you hang in there and keep answering the bell with praise, you will be victorious.

I encourage you to make a gratitude list and add to it often. The more you show gratitude for what you have from Father God and stop whining about what you don’t have, the more God can bless you, because He knows He can trust you to share it with those He brings to you.

“ I pray that you may have the power to comprehend….and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God” Ephesians 3:18-19

Lament and Healing

Two Questions…In the greatest hits of Country Music, how many are songs of lament? And in Christian bookstores, how many books of lament do you find? Did you snicker at the first question and think, “A Whole Lot?” Were you silent at the second question and think, “Not Many”? Why?

Today, it’s common to hide, push emotions down, and be “Fine”…Yet in Bible days, people ripped their clothes and covered themselves in ashes to show hurt, lament, and grief. In fact, one entire book of Scripture is called Lamentations, and many of the Psalms are laments.

Maybe we need to recapture God’s invitation to gut-level honest expressions of lament. These raw prayers are never ignored, silenced, or wasted. They often lead to greater intimacy with God and others. Maybe in declaring ourselves “more than conquerors” we skip over the healthy power of lament in the healing process. If we move too quickly, we may miss what God is doing. In creating space for God, we allow God to expand our heart and discern His work enfolding our wounds into His greater story.

Loss. Betrayal. Disappointment. Abuse. Brokenness. Frustration.
What is the deep wound you are nursing? Have you poured out your heart or given God only part of the pain? Have you missed the depth of His love? In the end, we only have the option of coming closer to God or moving away… coming closer to others or moving away.

“The Lord is near the brokenhearted and saves those crushed in spirit” (Psalm 34:8)

Morning Line: Covered Protected

“We have a strong city;
He sets up salvation as walls and ramparts.

“Open the gates, that the righteous nation may enter,
The one that remains faithful and trustworthy.

“You will keep in perfect and constant peace the one whose mind is steadfast [that is, committed and focused on You—in both inclination and character],
Because he trusts and takes refuge in You [with hope and confident expectation].

“Trust [confidently] in the Lord forever [He is your fortress, your shield, your banner],
For the Lord God is an everlasting Rock [the Rock of Ages].Isaiah 26:1-4

Meditate on these keys of faith and divine protection.

• V1, Strong City — The text declares that God makes salvation its walls and ramparts, symbolizing security for His people.
• V2, Invitation to Righteousness — It calls for the gates to be opened for the righteous nation that keeps faith.
• V3, Perfect Peace — The verse promises perfect peace to those whose minds are steadfast because they trust in God.
• V4, Eternal Trust — It emphasizes the importance of trusting in the Lord forever, identifying Him as the eternal Rock.

Morning Line: Daily Bread

”Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us with His benefits, the God of our salvation!”         Psalm 68:19

Don’t skip your daily meal of God’s Word, which nourishes your spirit through the Holy Spirit.

When you skip it, you become weak, irritable, and tired; you don’t function right.

In the middle of the Lord’s Prayer, in Matthew 6:11, Jesus said, “Give us this day our daily bread”

Not just physical but also spiritual. Throughout the Old and New Testament scriptures, God’s Word is referred to as bread.

Pray with me: Thank you, Lord, for your Bread and Breath of life that feeds and sustains me. Thank you for opening my spirit to hear a Word from you for today, to touch my life and the life of someone around me. You are my refuge, strength, and guide. I honor and praise your Holy Name.

Daily, pour God’s Word into your heart to overflowing; when you need its power, it will pour back out of you in power and might to take care of the day before you.
