The Cloak of Jesus
As Christians, we shall wear the cloak of the Lord.

Mathew 9:20-22 (NIV) – “Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak. She said to herself, ‘If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.’ Jesus turned and saw her. ‘Take heart, daughter,’ he said, ‘your faith has healed you.’ And the woman was healed at that moment.”
A cloak could be described as an overcoat without sleeves. Cloaks have been worn primarily by men for thousands of years. The cloak of Jesus had miraculous healing power.
Matthew 14:35-36 (NIV) – “And when the men of that place recognized Jesus, they sent word to all the surrounding country. People brought all their sick to him and begged him to let the sick just touch the edge of his cloak, and all who touched it were healed.”
Our faith calls for us to show compassion for those around us, for they all need our love.
Colossians 3:12 (NIV) – “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”
As we go through this life as Christians, we should faithfully strive to follow Jesus and do what he would do. So, we shall wear the cloak of compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Thereby, spreading love whenever and wherever we called. If you do, do not be surprised by the thankfulness and love you receive in return.
Gracious God, Our Heavenly Father, please let us be cloaked in loving kindness for all You send our way. We pray this in the Precious Name of Jesus! Amen!
Lord remind us today of all your love, benefits, and promise. Help us hold fast and not waver as you hold us in your mighty heart and hands. Lord, you are our Bread and Breath of Life.
