Pursuing God Day 6 “Complacency”
The Danger of Complacency
“Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth.”
So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor
cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.
R E V E L AT I O N 3 : 16
Spiritual complacency is one of the greatest threats to our
walk with God. Tozer warns that being content with a shallow
relationship with God leads to stagnation and spiritual decline.
Revelation 3:16 is a sobering reminder of God’s desire for
fervency in our faith. He calls us to be either hot or cold—fully
committed to Him or decisively rejecting Him. Reflect on areas
of your life where complacency may have crept in, and ask God
to renew your passion for Him.
Father, forgive me for moments of spiritual complacency.
Reignite my heart with passion and devotion for You. Amen.
