Pursuing God Day 26 of 52
“The Call to Spiritual Hunger”
“God waits to be wanted. Too bad that with many
of us He waits so long, so very long, in vain.”
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Matthew 5:6
Tozer emphasizes the importance of a deep spiritual hunger for
God’s presence. God desires to fill our hearts, but He waits for
us to seek Him earnestly. Matthew 5:6 reminds us that those
who long for righteousness will be satisfied. Reflect today on
areas where you can cultivate a greater hunger for God and
His truth. Consider the Israelites in the desert, yearning for
sustenance and learning dependence on God as their provider
(Exodus 16:4). Let this remind you that your spiritual hunger
is met by God’s abundant grace.
Lord, create in me a hunger and thirst for Your righteousness. May I seek You earnestly and be filled by Your presence. Amen.
