Morning Line: Trust Him
Are you struggling to trust God in your life right now? Is your heart feeling heavy?
The Hebrew word translated ‘peace’ in Psalm 85:8 is shalom in ancient Judaism, shalom meant more than simple peace, lack of conflict, or good tidings.
Shalom refers to safety, welfare, health, prosperity, quiet, tranquility, contentment, and friendship.
All these are attributes of the peace that God speaks to his people. In essence, when God speaks peace to his people, he expresses his desire for your good.
God desires only what is best for you. He not only knows what is best for you, but he desires it.
When hearing God, we must remember that he is the Lord and that he wants only what is best for us.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Christ Jesus, “… be content with what you have… “I will never leave you or forsake you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?” Hebrews 13:5-6 (paraphrased)
For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return there until they have watered the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11
You can always trust God: always. You can trust him because of who he is and because he wants only what is best for you.”
