Morning Line: Loyal Friend or Critic?

“ But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you or by any human court. I do not even judge myself. I am not aware of anything against myself, but I am not thereby acquitted. It is the Lord who judges me. Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive commendation from God. 1 Corinthians 4:3-5 (NRSVCE)

All of us need the advice and input of others. But you should only consider the advice of a critic when:

1) You, know you are valued by them.

2) The criticism is not tainted by personal agenda.

3) The person is not naturally critical of everything.

4) The person will continue giving support after giving advice.

5) They have knowledge and success in the area of the criticism.

It really hurts to the criticism of people who are important to you. It’s hard to have your dream criticized/analyzed by those you admire, love and respect. But if you want to achieve your dream, you’ll have to learn how to pay the price to receive tough honest mentorship. When knowing you have a God-given promise and purpose, and your heart is right, then can sift through and disregard unjustified criticism and stand on this Scripture:
“Judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men’s hearts.”
Friend, stay focused on God’s Word He will lead you down the right path at the right time setting you on course fulfill the “Dream and Passions” in you.

The promise: Jeremiah 29:11 (NRSVCE) “ For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope. “
