Morning Line: Be Sanctified

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit…abstain from every form of evil.

 May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do this. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-19, 22-24 (NRSVCE)

Without holiness, one will not see the Lord.

 Endure trials for the sake of discipline. God is treating you as children; for what child is there whom a parent does not discipline? If you do not have that discipline in which all children share. Then you are illegitimate and not his children.

For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, so that we may share his holiness. Now, discipline always seems painful rather than pleasant at the time, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

 Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees, and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint, but rather be healed. Hebrews 12:7-8, 10-14 (NRSCVE)

Follow the truth of God’s “Word” and encourage with whom you speak to do the same. God will give you a clear path clear view of the way to obtain holiness—namely by faith in the Son of God. We are saved from sin and made holy by faith in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior no other way. We are commanded and given authority to confess our faith at every opportunity to confirm our salvation and God’s work in our hearts and lives.

Alone with Christ Jesus, He fills every void as you give over your full heart and will to His care He will set your feet on a firm path.

John Edwards writes, “Holiness appears to me to have a sweet, calm, pleasant, charming, and serene nature, all of which brings an inexpressible purity and overwhelming refreshing joy to the soul”

Lord, I pray we surrender freely all to you and savor above all else our relationship with you, your Son, and Spirit. That will can walk and live in holiness and the power and authority of your love, grace, and mercy. Amen
