The Tongue Is a Flame

Not many [of you] should become teachers [serving in an official teaching capacity], my brothers and sisters, for you know that we [who are teachers] will be judged by a higher standard [because we have assumed greater accountability and more condemnation if we teach incorrectly]. For we all stumble and sin in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says [never saying the wrong thing], he is a perfect man [fully developed in character, without serious flaws], able to bridle his whole body and rein in his entire nature [taming his human faults and weaknesses]. Now if we put bits into the horses’ mouths to make them obey us, we guide their whole body as well. And look at the ships. Even though they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are still directed by a very small rudder wherever the impulse of the helmsman determines. In the same sense, the tongue is a small part of the body, and yet it boasts of great things.

See [by comparison] how great a forest is set on fire by a small spark! And the tongue is [in a sense] a fire, the very world of injustice and unrighteousness; the tongue is set among our members as that which contaminates the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life [the cycle of man’s existence], and is itself set on fire by hell (Gehenna). For every species of beasts and birds, of reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by the human race. But no one can tame the human tongue; it is a restless evil [undisciplined, unstable], full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the likeness of God.  Out of the same mouth come both blessing and cursing. These things, my brothers, should not be this way [for we have a moral obligation to speak in a manner that reflects our fear of God and profound respect for His precepts]. Morning Line: Know the 4^th Man!

Daniel 3:25  “I see four men loose, walking in… the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the 4th is like Christ Jesus”

Most of us see things different then we should. We see the problem and miss the solution and that’s when people compromise their belief. Your safest place is with the 4^th man, you may smell like smoke but you won’t get burnt.

Take time to know the 4^th Man. Your security is in Jesus Christ being lead by the Holy Spirit within and you through daily twists and turns to keep you in the right lane.

Isaiah 43: 16,18-19 “Thus says the Lord, who makes a way in the sea, a path in the mighty waters, Do not remember the former things, or consider the things of old. I am about to do a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.”

Spend time with Father God, Christ Jesus, and the Holy Spirit praise them for your blessings, good health, and well-being.

Seek them daily to set your course; They always have your best in mind. “Believe it Receive it”

“The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace” Numbers 6:24-26

Testing the Spirits

Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead, test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world.

By this you know and recognize the Spirit of God: every spirit that acknowledges and confesses [the fact] that Jesus Christ has [actually] come in the flesh [as a man] is from God [God is its source]; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus [acknowledging that He has come in the flesh, but would deny any of the Son’s true nature] is not of God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming, and is now already in the world.

Little children (believers, dear ones), you are of God and you belong to Him and have [already] overcome them [the agents of the antichrist]; because He who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world [of sinful mankind].

They [who teach twisted doctrine] are of the world and belong to it; therefore, they speak from the [viewpoint of the] world [with its immoral freedom and baseless theories—demanding compliance with their opinions and ridiculing the values of the upright], and the [gullible one of the] world listens closely and pays attention to them. 1 John 4:1-5 (AMP)

Teach God’s Word, be energized by the Holy Spirit, and know God through personal experience and knowledge of His unchanging, steadfast “Word,” gaining a deeper understanding of Him. Whoever is not of God does not listen to or acknowledge that Christ Jesus, the Son of God. By this, we know without any doubt that the spirit of truth, motivated by God, is not in them.

Morning Line: Look forward!

 Each morning, we choose the attitude that will guide our actions through the day.

We all need a reliable game plan for facing daily needs and circumstances. The situations that are in front of you may seem impossible to overcome on your own strength. We serve a big God, with big solutions and plans for your health and well-being to be and do more and conquer more than we can ever imagine in our strength and mind.

As we learn to accept and trust God’s plan, give Him control, and wait for Him to move.  We can peacefully wait; we have a great hope with the expectation of a good day and future.

1 Peter 5:6-8 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, so that he may exalt you in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Discipline yourselves, keep alert…”

You have a great day ahead; spend time with Father God, and praise Him for walking with you through the spills and victories you have had and the ones to come.

.Thank God for being with you always, rain or shine. He has plans for you, upgrades, and victories. He will set your course and have you in the right place at the right time.

Morning Line: Talk with Him

 Talk with Him, Find your way!

 Have faith, knowing God is listening and preparing your way.

  “Open up before God, keep nothing back, He’ll do whatever needs to be done in your life for peace and victory as you surrender “All” to Him.”  Psalm 37:5 (MSG)

We live in a noisy world.  We are surrounded by noise. But God is listening, watching, and moving.  He is speaking to us, and He is listening to us.  It is rare to find anyone who listens carefully and thoroughly.  Go ahead, talk with God, He’s listening! He wants to work His grace and love in and through you.

God is willing and ready to do great things through us if we are prepared to receive them.  Don’t let the cares of the world dull or blind you.  Stay open to God; He has a greater plan for your future than you have ever seen or dreamed.

 “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, said the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end” Jeremiah 29:11(KJV)

Be prepared by daily renewing your spirit, soul, and body in God’s word for instruction, and you will be ready when the bell rings and the gate opens.

“Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of your heart.”  (God first)  You have a unique God given desire and talent, knitted together before time for your destiny and purpose.  Ask God to help overcome your fears and illuminate your gifts to step out to be all you can be in God’s hands, enjoying life and being a blessing.”  Psalm 37:4

Morning Lin: My Cup!

“…..my cup runs over.” Psalm 23:5

 Your Faith pleases God, Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him….He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Humanly, we prefer sight, taste, hearing, smell, and feelings instead of leaning on God’s promises.

Don’t give in or give up, keep doing in faith what the Lord has impressed you to do.  Your labor is not in vain, rejoice, your time is coming.

“do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand” Isaiah 41:10 (NRSVCE)

As you trust your life to Jesus Christ, your heart and spirit will show you the way with total peace of mind and spirit.

Raise your heart and spirit in praising God. Super-size your cup by increasing your knowledge of God’s Word. His grace and promises are the key to releasing God’s provision; they are His will and do not change.
