Romans 15:13  (NRSVCE) “ May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Actions are a by-product of your belief.  People act wrong because they believe wrong.  You cannot act consistently different than your belief.  What you hear long enough you will believe right or wrong.  Romans 10:17”So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Be washed by the cleansing waters Of God’s Word”

As you are soaked in the word you won’t get soaked as often. As the promise of

Psalm 119:105 “ Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”

As trust in your Lord Jesus Christ you will find yourself on a sure foundation.

God isn’t as concerned about what you do as He is who you are. He wants your fellowship more then your service. If he has your heart there is no question He will have your service. Where is your heart?

5 The next day their rulers, elders, and scribes assembled in Jerusalem, 6 with Annas the high priest, Caiaphas, John, and Alexander, and all who were of the high-priestly family. 7 When they had made the prisoners stand in their midst, they inquired, “By what power or by what name did you do this?” 8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers of the people and elders, 9 if we are questioned today because of a good deed done to someone who was sick and are asked how this man has been healed, 10 let it be known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that this man is standing before you in good health by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead. 11 This Jesus is

‘the stone that was rejected by you, the builders;
it has become the cornerstone.’

12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among mortals by which we must be saved.”

Morning Line: Twists, Turns and Bumps                                                                                                        

 1 Peter 1:6-7  (NRSVCE)” In this you rejoice, even if now for a little while you have had to suffer various trials,                     7 so that the genuineness of your faith—being more precious than gold that, though perishable, is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. “

It is impossible to tell by looking at a person how much faith they have. Compare your faith to a bucket of water; you only discover how much is inside when somebody bumps it. Likewise, when life bumps you, you spill out what you are full of fear or faith? Maybe you’ve received bad news What splashed over the side? Dreading the worst or trusting God for the best? People can’t tell by looking at you how much faith you have, but they can tell by listening to you. In life, bumps are going to happen. You will be tested.  The test doesn’t just to reveal your faith, but can refine it. God doesn’t test your faith in order to know how much you have, He already knows.  Stop and consider the hardest thing that’s going on in your life, then ask, ‘Is this situation decreasing my faith or increasing it?’ The Bible says: ‘These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.’ 1 Peter 1:7     and remember   “what, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us” Romans 8: 31

Your Strength                                                        

  2 Peter 1:3-11  (NRSVCE)

3 His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature. 5 For this very reason, you must make every effort to support your faith with goodness, and goodness with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with endurance, and endurance with godliness, 7 and godliness with mutual affection, and mutual affection with love. 8 For if these things are yours and are increasing among you, they keep you from being ineffective and unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 For anyone who lacks these things is short-sighted and blind, and is forgetful of the cleansing of past sins. 10 Therefore, brothers and sisters, be all the more eager to confirm your call and election, for if you do this, you will never stumble. 11 For in this way, entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be richly provided for you.
